Our silver pieces are made with Sterling Silver wire and our gold pieces are made with 14kt. Gold Filled wire.

A note about gold-filled wire–

As well as being expensive, gold is simply too soft to work with in wire jewelry. An affordable, practical and beautiful option is gold filled wire. We’ve all heard of gold plating- make no mistake, this is different. Gold filled wire has 100 times more gold in it than gold plated wire. Rolled gold filled wire is created by taking a sheet of 14kt. Gold and bonding it to a core of semi-precious metal. Because of the thickness of the covering (gold), gold filled wire looks, acts, and wears similarly to 14kt. gold. If you can wear 14kt. gold, you shouldn’t have any problem with 14kt. gold filled. Of course, you should check with your doctor if you have a concern, but most people find this to be the case. It is also tarnish resistant like 14kt. gold and with a little care, should last a lifetime!
